Police hand out alarms and safety advice

RESIDENTS of college ward were invited to an impact day to get clued up on personal safety.

The event was hosted by Cheshire Police and Chester Students’ Union.

More than 170 free personal attack alarms and 90 segment timers were handed out, along with leaflets and advice.

PC Steve Baldwin, who attended the event, said: “The event was a great success, with residents from the local community coming in for advice. Our PCSOs were also able to visit homes in the local area and give advice to homeowners on how best to secure their homes now the nights are drawing in.”
