River Dee body identified as 62-year-old woman

THE body found in the River Dee at Chester this morning (Wednesday, November 5) was a 62-year-old woman from Knutsford.

The woman, who has not yet been named, was found at about 8am in the Queens Park area of Chester. Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances.

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: “A passer by phoned the police to say that seen a body on the bank of the river.”

Emergency services, including three fire engines, the fire service boat and an ambulance, were investigating at the Meadows and the Groves this morning.

A passer-by based in the area said: “I left here about 8am, came back from the bank and in that half an hour, all this happened.”
