Pupils play it pink in name of charity

PINK faces, cakes and clothes have taken over a primary school.

The fun at Ashton Hayes Primary last Friday was all in aid of Breast Cancer Research and the children raised more than £170.

The school’s admin officer Di Stubbs said: “We decided that the whole school should be ‘dared to wear pink’ as the ribbon logo for Breast Cancer Research is pink. During morning break we did pink face-painting and sold cakes which had been baked by children from the school.

“In assembly we had a competition for who had the most interesting pink outfit on.

“The children’s committee were astonished with the effort that all the children and staff put in.”
