Chester man survives being stabbed in the head

A CHESTER man miraculously survived being stabbed in the head during a fight on Wednesday (October 29).

Police were called to a house on Western Avenue in Blacon at 3.30pm after reports of a disturbance and discovered a 45-year-old man with cuts to his scalp on arrival.

He had been involved in a fight with another man inside the house although the offender had left the scene before police officers arrived.

Police arrested a 43-year-old male close to the scene following a patrol of the local area. He was taken to Blacon custody facility and interviewed about the assault charge.

The victim was taken to Chester of Countess Hospital where he was treated and discharged later on Wednesday night.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, particularly anyone in the Western Avenue area of Blacon at 3.30pm on Wednesday, to contact the Western Specialist Investigation Unit on 0845 458 0000.
