Work starts on £10,000 revamp of Saltney foot bridge

WORK begins on October 25 to renew the surface of a popular foot bridge in Saltney, Chester.

The Redrow railway bridge links Oak Road and Boundary Lane. The scheme costs £10,000 and work will be carried out by county council maintenance contractor Edmund Nuttall.

Overleigh County Councillor Stephen Mosley said: “Repair work has been deliberately timed to take place during the half term holidays when the number of pedestrians using the bridge will be lighter.

“The scheme is scheduled to last for nine days and I am sure that pedestrians will notice a difference in the new footway surface”.

While the work is under way alternative pedestrian crossing points are at Chester Street and Green Lane.
