£130,000 Old Dee Bridge project starts in Chester on Monday

DRIVERS are being reminded that Chester’s Old Dee Bridge is closing for up to three weeks from Monday, October 20 because of work on a £130,000 heritage project.

A pedestrian crossing is to be built at the entrance to the bridge in Lower Bridge Street. One week of the closure coincides with half term holidays when traffic will be lighter.

Castle Drive is also closed until around November 7, from County Hall to the junction with Lower Bridge Street, to finish work started earlier this year.

The public realm project is designed and supervised by Cheshire County Council, funded by Chester City Council through the Northwest Development Agency and is being carried out by the county council’s highway maintenance contractor Edmund Nuttall.
