Woman rescued from crashed car on M56 in Cheshire

A WOMAN in her 20s had to be rescued after spinning her car off the eastbound carriageway of the M56.

She was rescued from her car after she crashed between junctions 10 and 11 just after 2am yesterday morning (Saturday, October 11).

Two fire crews from Runcorn and one from Warrington attended the scene, which one firefighter described as "awkward" because of the car ended up balanced on its bonnet against a fence.

After being cut free, the woman, who was concious throughout, was taken to Warrington hospital where is is believed she is receiving treatment for a neck injury.
