City centre assault charge denied by man

A Flintshire man has denied knocking another man out in Chester city centre.
Gareth Roscoe, 23, of Middle Mill Lane, Northop, stands accused of punching Lee Whelan on September 20 this year.
The incident on the junction of Pepper Street and Foregate Street in Chester was captured on CCTV.
Roscoe denies assault by beating. His trial will be heard at Chester Magistrates Court on November 17.
He was bailed on the condition that he does not contact the alleged victim.
