RESIDENTS are being invited to quiz the Countess of Chester’s Hospital Board at its annual members public meeting.
Trust chairman Sir Jim Sharples, chief executive Peter Herring, and Michael Hemmerdinger, representing the board of governors, will all be on hand to answer any questions that the hospital’s patients and visitors might have about its performance and how its budget has been spent.
During the meeting, the board will report on some of the trust’s achievements over the past 12 months, which include being one of only five trusts in the country to win a prestigious 40 Top Hospitals Award, reducing healthcare acquired MRSA infections to just 12 cases, a 47% reduction from the previous year, and achieving the 18-week target nine months in advance of the national deadline.
Attendees will also see demonstrations on infection control, the Pacemaker service, macular degeneration, binge drinking and the Patient Advice and Liaison Service.
The meeting will take place on October 7 at the Education and Training Centre. Doors will open at 5pm for a 6.30pm start.
