THE life of a former Chester King’s School pupil killed in a horror smash in August will be celebrated at a ceremony on Friday, October 3.
David Wares, 22, of Melyd Avenue, Prestatyn, was pronounced dead after colliding with a wall on the A547 near his home on August 26.
A 20-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but released on bail pending further inquiries.
A former pupil of Fairholme in St Asaph, Kings School in Chester and later Prestatyn High School, David was well known in the area and described as a happy, sociable child, remembered fondly by teachers as a pupil who could always win anyone with his smile.
He was about to enter his final year at Liverpool John Moores University studying property management.
Mum Edwina Wares said: “It may be too late for David and the youngsters he knew but the youngsters of the community who can’t drive yet must be made aware of the dangers.”
A celebration of David’s life will be held at Calvary Church on Victoria Road, Prestatyn, at 1pm on Friday, October 3, and afterwards at Graig Park Hotel. A request has been made for no flowers but donations can be made to the Special Care Baby Unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan.
