A 70-YEAR-OLD biker cheated death when he collided with a car on the A54 between Tarvin and Kelsall.
The elderly motorcyclist was attended to by paramedics and could be seen moving only moments after the incident, which occured at 12.45pm on Monday (September 22).
The man came off his blue Suzuki motorbike after he collided with a white Peugeot 306 containing an elderly couple.
The female driver was breathalysed by a police officer on the side of the road.
The motorcyclist suffered minor facial injuries as a result of the crash and was being kept in overnight for observations at the Countess of Chester Hospital as the Midweek Chronicle went to press.
A landscape gardener, working near the crash site, said: “We didn’t even hear it happen but when we saw that the traffic had stopped for a long time we just assumed someone had broken down.
“When we walked out to have a look we saw a motorcyclist lying in the road. It’s shocking.”
The accident caused tailbacks for several miles in both directions although traffic was moving again within an hour of the incident.
