All smiles as fun day is a big success
ALPRAHAM Village Fun Day was hailed as a “fantastic success” by the young mums who organised it.
The first fun day in the village was held on Saturday and more than 200 people gathered from the village and surrounding areas to enjoy the sunshine and the fun filled activities on offer. It was organised by four mums who wished to revitalise the community spirit in Alpraham.
Sarah-Jane Mears, a mum who helped organise it, said: “It was a fantastic success, the sun shone and it seemed the whole village turned out for the day.
“People couldn’t believe how many people were there and in particular how many children there were.
“They all really enjoyed it and the welly wanning and the animal farm were a big success with the children.”
The day raised around £800 and the organisers plan to use the money for another community event during the winter months.
