Friends run up £400 boost for workshop

THREE friends have completed a charity run and raised more than £400 for the Will to Work workshop in Frodsham.

Sally Prince and Hannah Bullock, of Frodsham, and Jayne Gilbert, of Alvanley, ran the Adidas Women’s 5k challenge around Liverpool's Sefton Park on Sunday in aid of the pioneering workshop founded by Sally’s father-in-law, Geoff Prince.

Geoff started the workshop nine years ago after a severe illness left him unable to continue his trade as a builder. The facility, based in Fountain Lane, encourages and supports people with various disabilities to develop skills and regain their confidence, and there are now 20 members engaged in woodwork, gardening and painting.

The three women ran the Race For Life in Sefton Park earlier this year and nominated the workshop to benefit from their latest challenge, with money raised supporting Will to Work’s gardening enterprise on a new plot of land.

The local trio were among 2,000 women who tackled the Liverpool run.

Sally said: “It was a good day. The three of us managed to stay together and complete the run in 38 minutes.”
