Chance to step out for favourite charity

SUPPORT the charity of your choice by walking around Chester.

Chester Rotary Club is staging a charity sponsored walk on Sunday September 28.

Organiser Rob Adams said: “Last year charities ranged from a group of Brownies, who raised enough to buy a new tent, to Cross Roads charity who raised more than £600.

“As long as you have got a good cause or a charity you can raise money for anyone you like.”

Walkers have a choice of walking a short route of 4.5 miles starting at 10.30am or a long route of eight miles starting at 11am.

The routes start near the gates to the Dukes Drive by the Overleigh roundabout.

The long route goes out through the fields and trees to Eccleston before joining the short walk which goes by the river and round the city walls.

Mr Adams added: “We will be giving walkers notes on what to look for en route. The Eccleston route notes include birds and animals to look for and the city walls route points out places of interest.”

Last year 70 walkers took part and the club is hoping for a larger group for this year.

Entries cost £5 for adults and £2 for children.
