Village enjoys best in show

IT was difficult to judge whether two-year-old Sophie George or her allotment-grown sweet peas had entered Tarporley Village Show as both were pretty as a picture.

Meanwhile Nicola Silvano was holding up six-year-old daughter’s Ceara’s colourful entry to prove a cup can hold more than soup.

The show, sponsored by the Tarporley Royal British Legion Allotment Holders, took place in the legion hall.

Everything was on offer from vegetables, flowers and pot plants to floral art, cookery and photography.

Children could enter their flower arrangements and cookery and there were prizes for the largest onion and the longest runner bean among others.
