KEN DODD is celebrating more than 50 years in show business and is absolutely discumknockerated (Knotty Ash speak for ‘over the moon’) to be bringing his famous ‘Happiness Show’ to Venue Cymru, Llandudno on Sunday .
“I have always enjoyed visiting North Wales because as a Liverpool lad I enjoyed many seaside holidays in and around Llandudno,” said Ken. “In those days I concentrated on building sandcastles, riding donkeys and eating loads of candy floss and ice-cream. Nowadays I love my annual visits to the beautiful Venue Cymru to entertain the best audiences in Wales.
“Audiences come to my shows to be entertained and to forget the cares and worries of everyday life for a couple of hours . There is nothing like slaving over a hot audience and hearing the wonderful sound of laughter.”
“I’ve never even thought about retirement,” he says.
