Garden prize winners

TWO lucky gardeners won’t have to dig into their own pockets this summer after winning hundreds of pounds worth of garden centre vouchers in a Chronicle competition.
Shirley Lowry, of Higher Kinnerton, and Anne Walshe, of Chester, each won £500 worth of vouchers for the Grosvenor Garden Centre after correctly answering questions.
Shirley correctly answered that citronella candles are perfect for keeping mosquitoes at bay when hosting a garden party and Anne named how many varieties of hardy shrubs are stocked at the Belgrave garden centre..
Managing director of Grosvenor Garden Centre, Iain Wylie said: “We are delighted by the enormous response to the competitions in the Chronicle and are really pleased by how excited the winners are.”
