Two in hospital after Cholmondeley motorbike crash

A MOTORCYCLE crash near a festival of motorsport put a rider and her passenger in hospital.

Cheshire Police were called to the incident at Bickerton Road’s junction with the A49, near Cholmondeley Castle in Cholmondeley at 10.55am on Sunday (August 10).

The castle was hosting the second day of the Pageant of Power at the time.

Police spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “There was a two vehicle collision involving a silver Mercedes and a blue Suzuki motorcycle.”

A male and female were thrown from the motorbike and their helmets came off.

The male patient was taken to Leighton Hospital by St John Ambulance with minor injuries and the female patient, who is in her mid 30s, was taken to Leighton Hospital by air ambulance with left hip pain.
