Heat is on for club kids at station

FRODSHAM Rainbow Club members were put through their paces when they visited the town’s fire station.

The group was shown the service’s new fire engine and car, experienced a fire drill and tried on the uniform for size.

With the help of firefighters Alan Oulton, Steve Gardener, Tony Penney and James Coates, the Rainbow Club tried out the new hoses on the fire engines as well as having a talk on fire safety.

Each member was given a fridge magnet and a pen at the end of the visit.

The club meets each Thursday at the Frodsham Rainbow Youth Club in Fluin Lane and they are involved in many activities including craftwork, games, cooking, line dancing, and trips.

Some members are involved in the Gateway Award, similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award but tailored for people with special needs.
