Village group will be the business

A NEW business association is to be launched in Tarporley.

The village parish council has found a chairman to establish a Tarporley Business Association.

The council has invited David Carter, past president of The Rotary Club of Tarporley and a village resident for more than 20 years, to lead the steering group which will set up the association.

David will be writing to businesses in Tarporley to explain his position and to invite them to an initial meeting.

The association will look at, among other things, promoting the image of Tarporley, improving business understanding of residents’ needs and expectations and provide a voice and face for businesses to the councils, public services, the press and public.

He said: “I applied for the position because I am passionate about both Tarporley and helping businesses to grow. I have been a member of The Rotary Club’s community and vocational committee for some years and see this as a further opportunity to serve both the business and the resident community.”

He added: “For my day job I work for Business Link NorthWest whose remit is simply to help businesses grow. I hope I can combine these two objectives to the benefit of all concerned.”
