Pupils brush up on their artistic skills

ASPIRING artists swapped pens for paintbrushes at a primary school as lessons were replaced with an art day.

The resulting exhibition of paintings by pupils at Dorin Park School, Wealstone Lane, Upton showed the best of the school’s creative talent.

The pupils tackled the subject of summer.

The results impressed enough to see 50 of the 80 paintings produced sold at £6 each as the works went on display for parents evening.

Organiser Sarah Adam said: “They’ve done really well. It was nice for the children to see their work mounted on gallery boards.”

Ms Adam hopes to hold another art day next year.
