AN 11-YEAR-old rose queen was crowned by her great-great-aunt at the Saughall village fête.

Ellie German was presented with her crown by fête organiser and Saughall resident Rachael Jones.

Jean Stuart, who also helps organise the fête, said: “Rachael has been involved in the fête as long as we can remember and it seemed right that she should crown her great-great-neice at this occasion.”

The sun came out for the fête allowing organisers to take more than £2,000 on the vicarage garden gate.

The event included a variety of games and stalls including a tombola, children’s football and activities. There were also a variety of food stalls.

All money raised will be donated to the upkeep of Saughall Church.
