Care home guide launch

A TARPORLEY care home has launched a guide to help those who are trying to choose a home for their relatives.

Ann Hull, general manager of Iddenshall Hall’s Barchester Beeston View Care Home, said: “Finding a suitable care home can be difficult during what is an already emotional time, so this guide aims to help families through the process.”

The 20 page booklet identifies 10 key factors to look for in choosing a dementia care home and looks in detail at the philosophy behind person centred care.

Author of the guide, David Sheard, director of Dementia Care Matters said: “Person-centred care is about the belief in life that ‘feelings matter most’.”

Printed versions of the booklet are available for free from any of the Barchester care homes across the UK, including Beeston View, and by request from the Barchester Healthcare website at www.barchester.com.
