Villagers will unite for fun-packed day

THE inaugural Helsby Day will be held at Helsby Community Sports Club on Saturday, July 12, from 11am.

The action-packed day will include arts and crafts, an assault course, beer tents, golf lessons and miniature steam train rides.

The village event, organised jointly by the sports club and Helsby Village Action Group, will have plenty of traditional attractions too, with bucket throws, penny rolls, knock the cans down, stocks and splat the rat all on offer.

Organiser Michelle Pickstock said: “The idea of the day is to showcase everything Helsby has to offer as well as bringing the village and surrounding areas together to have some fun.”

Helsby Puppy School will run a dog show (enter on the day) and Frodsham’s Rowlinsons Solicitors is sponsoring a rounders tournament (register in advance to play).
