Theatre in search for young people

A CHESTER theatre company is searching for young talent.

Theatre in the Quarter, the city’s leading professional and community theatre company, wants to recruit talented young performers for a new production.

Garden Lane – The Musical will be performed at Chester Racecourse’s new Pavilion venue from September 3-6.

Following the sellout successes of previous productions, Some Sunny Day, Sweet Sixteen and The Twelve Days of Christmas, the theatre needs a company of 16 to 22-year-olds.

Inspired by the increasingly diverse lives of the people of Garden Lane, the musical has numbers like The March of the Students and The Dance of the Café Ladies.

The play examines the eclectic mix of people who live and work in the street.

The company is especially keen to recruit young people with past experience in theatre, who have strong vocal ability, play a musical instrument and/or dance.

But Theatre in the Quarter is also keen to encourage committed young people who would like to take on the challenge of being involved in their first ever theatre production.

The company has received Arts Council England funding for this production and has developed key partnerships with Chester Performs and Chester Racecourse.

If you are aged between 16 and 22 and would like to find out more contact Julie on 07747 110933 or go to www.chesterperforms.com before tomorrow, July 5.
