Fundraisers club together

TWO golfers at a Cheshire club really got into the swing of things as they raised more than £3,000 for charity.

Tim Carter, 37, from Kinnerton and Chris Stott, 29, from Little Sutton played seven rounds of golf in one 13-hour session at Helsby Golf Club for their Powered Wheelchair Appeal.

The pair started at 4.30am, finishing at 5.30pm – just as the heavens opened.

“Our quickest round was one hour 20 minutes and we walked 37-and-a-half miles. We were exhausted, but it was worth it,” said Tim.

Their average gross score was 75, with an average net score of 65 – five under par.

Tim added: “We carried our own gear so we stuck to using just four clubs each as carrying a full set would have been too much.

“But we are really pleased with the way the day went and proud to have presented the Helsby Golf Club Powered Wheelchair Appeal with more than £3,000.”
