Police helicopter tracks Cheshire pub burglars

POLICE helicopters tracked down burglars who broke into a pub in Chester in the early hours on Sunday morning (June 22).

Just after 4am police were called to the Toby Carvery on Warrington Road after there was a forced entry. Prior to the police arrival the burglars had escaped.

They had targeted the gaming machines in the property.

Just after an hour later the police caught up with the men using the helicopters, dogs and patrol cars in a field just off the M56.

They were taken into custody and charged with the burglary. They were also charged with the burglary of the Old Quay Pub in Parkgate and the Egerton Arms in Saughall, and one offence of aggravated vehicle taking.

The two men are due to appear in Chester Magistrates court today, ( Monday June 23).
