Success by design for floral artists
CHESTER Flower Club members dug deep to wow the judges with their artistic flower arrangements at the Cheshire Show.
The club members joined other groups and flower arrangers from NAFAS to display their designs and compete at the show.
Gillian Jackson, of Tarvin Road, Frodsham competed in the Compost Heap Class competition.
She said: “The aim was to interpret the title, so I only used natural materials, and lots of earthy colours in my design.
“I was absolutely delighted to be recognised. I only started flower arranging after my daughter did, to help her out, but now I am the one that is really taking to it.”
Another winner was Gill Ralph, of Broomheath Lane, Stapleford who used her design to reflect Kew Gardens.
She said: “The category was called ‘designed by’, and I used mine to reflect the designs in Kew Gardens. I came third so I was delighted.”
Chester Flower Club also had a larger display called “Down the Garden Path” which was put together by many of the club’s members.
Diane Fair of the club said: “It is a fantastic display and we are all very proud of those who put it together.”
