Pub helps hospital cancer care
FUNDRAISING efforts at the Ship Victory in Chester have raised more than £70,000 for the Angela Gildea Memorial Fund.
Their hard work and relentless fundraising has allowed the Countess of Chester Hospital to purchase a piece of hi-tech radiology equipment.
The group donated £56,000 for a Faxitron, a machine which enables fast production of digital images, for the Chester Breast Care Unit.
This equipment allows for immediate confirmation that targeted lesions have been correctly removed.
Fundraising manager Kate Taylor said: “The new machines are the most sophisticated on the market and the one we have purchased will help to reduce procedure time and increase patient comfort.
“We are so grateful to the staff and customers of the Ship Victory for making this happen.”
