Police warning over spate of crime in Chester suburb

POLICE have called for the public’s help to tackle a spate of crimes in a Chester suburb.

Offences in the Great Boughton area involve thefts of bikes and motorbikes which have been dumped locally, thefts from garden sheds and damage to buildings and motor boats on the river.

Some arrests have already been made and police have vowed they will continue to focus on this spike in the coming weeks.

Inspector Mel Williams, of Cheshire Police, said: “Over recent weeks, we have seen a steady increase in crime in the Boughton and Great Boughton area.

“This increase in offending is far from epidemic proportion but we need to nip this in the bud. We suspect local youths are responsible for these issues and need your help.

“If you see anything suspicious, have any ideas or hear a snippet of information, then please get in touch. As always, we will treat information in confidence.”

Call Cheshire Police with any information on 0845 458 6384.
