Tanya sets out on bid for stardom

A SINGING sensation is hoping to top the charts this summer with her debut single.

Tanya-Marie Leyshon, 26, of Marshgate Place, Frodsham, is releasing dance song Make the Night Worthwhile in August.

She said: “I couldn’t be more excited. It is amazing. Everyone who has heard it has said it sounds fantastic and I think it could go somewhere. I really think it’s going to sell. We are going to be famous – next year Creamfields.”

Ex-Frodsham High School pupil Tanya used to work in town pubs Helter Skelter and Amore before working in advertising at the Buy Sell office in Frodsham, the Chronicle’s sister publication.

She said: “Recording the track was horrible, it was the most embarrassing thing I have ever done. You don’t hear the music you just hear yourself singing, but when it was all mixed together it was the most amazing feeling.”

The single will be released by independent record label COLD communications, owned by former Chester Dee 106.3 presenter Chris Oakley.

He said: “We want the single to get a lot of radio play, I think it’s going to be a massive summer song. I’m sure Tanya will go far and hopefully we can get her performing at festivals, events and road shows soon.

“It’s a very exciting time, everyone is working extremely well as a team and Tanya has a very clever ear for harmonies which not only makes Make the Night Worthwhile a brilliant pop song but also takes it to a whole new level.”

On Wednesday the track was sent down to London for its final mastering but a 60-second preview was posted on the label’s myspace page.

Chris added: “We are starting radio and press pre-promotion the middle of June and are confident of getting it play listed at most radio stations across the country. We have just started the ball rolling. We are all really excited about the whole thing.”

Make the Night Worthwhile will be released on August 4, initially as download only and will be available on all major digital distributors.
