CHESHIRE farmers will be welcoming visitors to explore their land and meet the animals on Open Farm Sunday.
The event, which takes place this Sunday, is organised by LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming), which gives both young and old the opportunity to enjoy the countryside.
Hatley Lane Farm in Frodsham will be holding farm walks. Visitors will have the chance to take part in a potato harvesting demonstration, meet the animals and children can sit on a tractor and take a trailer ride. Entrance is £1 for adults, children go free.
The Grange Farm in Warrington Road, Mickle Trafford, will be welcoming visitors. Farmer David Rowlands said: “The day will be focused around the Nags Head in Mickle Trafford. We have guided tours and also hope to have a falconer on site and the British Trust of Conservation Volunteers demonstrating traditional willow coppicing.”
A service of thanksgiving will be held in the barn at 1pm. The Farm is open from 10am-4pm.
The Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, Newton Lane in Tattenhall, will be offering families guided tours.
