A COMPANY is helping to promote arts in the community after signing up to sponsor the work of acting students at a Cheshire college.
Game Connection UK Ltd, an online retailer based in Birken- head, has donated £500 to toward West Cheshire College’s production of The Crucible next month.
Performed by students on the BTEC National Diploma in Acting course, the play has been put together to showcase the skills they have learned during their course.
Michael Campbell, director of Game Connection UK Ltd, said: “We are delighted to help support students at West Cheshire College.
“Sponsoring an event of this nature is fantastic because not only can we give something back to the community but we can see the results of how our sponsorship has helped.”
Darren Wilson, a drama teacher at West Cheshire College, said: “I would like to thank the generosity of Game Connection UK.
“Sponsorship of productions such as this is invaluable in helping to enhance the quality of learning for students by enabling them to work on a fully equipped set.”
The Crucible will be performed at the college’s John Prescott Theatre at the Ellesmere Port campus on Wednesday, June 11, at 7pm and on Thursday, June 12, at 1pm and 7pm.
