Hospice friends in need of volunteers

HELPERS are needed to give hope to terminally ill children.

Christleton Friends of Hope House are holding a recruitment day as they search for people to support the valuable work of Hope House Children’s Hospice.

Following the huge success of their Cantorion Colin Jones Concert in Aldford Church last Autumn, they are looking to expand their membership by recruiting people to help organise a couple of small local fundraisers during the year.

Hope House community fundraiser Rachel Pike said: “If you live in or around Christleton, enjoy socialising and meeting like-minded people and don’t mind giving up a very small amount of your time, please come along to the open evening.

“Refreshments will be available and there will be an insight into the work of Hope House.”

Hope House cares for more than 250 terminally ill children and supports more than 130 bereaved families from across Cheshire, North and Mid Wales and Shropshire.

They rely almost entirely on voluntary funding in order to keep the doors to their two respite hospices – at Hope House in Oswestry and Ty Gobaith in Conwy – open.

This year alone they need to raise £4m in order to continue making the most of short and precious lives.

Rachel added: “If you can spare an hour on the evening to support local terminally ill children and their families then we would love to see you there.”

They are holding a recruitment day on Thursday, June 5, at 7.30pm at Caldy Valley Community Centre.

If you would like to help but are unable to attend on June 5 contact Rachel Pike, community fundraiser on 07969 218 631.
