Charity bears

MALL Chester retailer Build a Bear Workshop has been helping to raise funds for homeless children throughout the region after donating prizes for a charity fun day.

Build a Bear donated toys for a Name the Bear competition, which was organised as part of Save the Family’s fun day at Cotton Hall Farm.

Save the Family provides emergency accommodation, training and support for homeless families from throughout the North West and North Wales and proceeds from the day will be used to help fund plans for new accommodation units at Cotton Hall Farm.

The charity needs to raise £3.5 million to fund the development.

Winner of Name the Bear competition was Jan Leach, from St John Ambulance, who won the competition with the name of Balu.

Julie Williams, marketing manager for The Mall Chester, said: “It is an honour to be able to help people in the community of Chester and know that we can make a difference.”
