A TRAMPS’ tiff turned spiteful when one set fire to the other’s blanket.
The two gentlemen of the road were bedding down in Hamilton Place, Chester, when they began arguing. The quarrel then literally became heated as one of them lit the blanket, possibly using matches.
The homeless man had to go to hospital for a few hours with burned feet.
Both the fire brigade and the police had to turn out after the argument escalated at 1.45am on Tuesday, May 20. Firefighters spent 50 minutes on the scene putting out the fire and waiting for the police to arrive.
Officers then arrested three men from Blacon, who were all released without charge.
Fire crew manager Bob Monk said: “There was a bit of a tiff between the pair of them and it is under investigation.”
