Time to join scarecrow trail

ENTRIES are still being accepted for this year’s annual Kelsall Scarecrow Trail, which runs from next Saturday, May 24 until June 8.

Last year there were 40 scarecrows throughout the village but this year organisers hope to see lots more.

It is organised by Kelsall CP School PTA with help from KADRAS to raise money for school funds.

To encourage more families to have a go at making a scarecrow PTA member and keen scarecrow-maker Kath Youds held an informal event after school to pass on handy hints and ideas.

She said: “As a family we love to take part in the Scarecrow Trail. It’s fun and the trail also brings the community together.”

There are two sections of the scarecrow competition – a traditional category and a category based on nursery rhymes and children’s books.

For more information on Kelsall’s 6th annual Scarecrow Trail call Jackie Hodgson on 01829 759457.
