Deano leads the way
A CHESTER radio presenter is using the city’s historic city walls to train for a charity race.
Christopher Dean, 26, known as “Deano”, a DJ for Marcher FM’s mid-morning show, is taking part in the BUPA Great Manchester Run on Sunday, May 18 to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
He said: “My training regime is basically to do circuits of the wall, just going a bit further each day.
“I was registered as partially sighted when I was younger, so I am well aware of the kinds of difficulties people with sight problems have to overcome. This is a cause very close to my heart.”
The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association provides dogs and other mobility services to blind and partially sighted people. The lifetime cost of a guide dog is around £35,000.
