Woman’s body found in Malpas cemetery

THE body of a female was found in the cemetery in Malpas this morning (Thursday, May 15).
Police were called to the cemetery on Chester road at 6.50am after a member of the public found the body.
Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
Duty Inspector Andy Burrage said: “A member of the public alerted the police to a body in the cemetery. We cannot release any details at present, as we are still in the early stages of our inquiries.”
Police have cordoned off the cemetery and a white tent has been erected at the site.
Forensic teams are at the scene.
