M53 junctions closed in Cheshire after lorry jacknifes

THE M53 is currently closed northbound between junctions 7 and 6 at Ellesmere Port after a lorry jacknifed at around 11.15am today (Thursday, May 15).

Due to the need to recover the vehicle this closure may be in place for some time and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Drivers can ring the Highways Agency's Information Line on 08457 50 40 30 for traffic information or visit www.highways.gov.uk for the latest traffic conditions.

Customers can also tune into traffic radio at www.trafficradio.org.uk on DAB or via the internet.
