M53 in Cheshire still partly closed after lorry jack-knifed

THE M53 is currently still closed northbound between junctions 7 and 6 at Ellesmere Port after a lorry jack-knifed at around 11.15am today (Thursday, May 15).

The Highways Agency is still advising drivers to avoid the area if possible until further notice.

Drivers should also note that the M53 southbound in this area is also currently subject to important restrictions at the moment with only hard shoulder running around the incident site as heavy plant has had to be introduced to right the jack-knifed scrap metal lorry.

This work is going on at the moment.

Drivers can ring the Highways Agency's Information Line on 08457 50 40 30 for traffic information or visit www.highways.gov.uk for the latest traffic conditions. Customers can also tune into Traffic Radio at www.trafficradio.org.uk on DAB or via the internet.
