Man flees from police across hospital roof

A 38-YEAR-old man denied assaulting two police officers as he tried to escape custody.

Kevin Tierney, of Northern Rise, Great Sutton, was being held at Wirral’s Arrowe Park Hospital, where he tried to escape by climbing on to the roof.

Tierney pleaded guilty on Monday to three charges of making and possessing Class B drugs as well as attempting to escape custody and criminal damage and is awaiting sentence.

The two assault charges will be heard at Chester Crown Court on June 6.
