A clean sweep for jubilant Conservatives

CONSERVATIVE councillors had a clean sweep in Frodsham and Helsby ward – and serving Vale Royal Borough Councillors Andrew Dawson, Les Ford and Mark Ingram will represent the area in the new Cheshire West and Chester unitary council.

Cllr Dawson, who also serves on Frodsham Town Council, is a solicitor and partner in a local law firm he founded.

He and his family have lived in Frodsham for more than 15 years.

Cllr Ingram is a chemical engineer and managing director of a Frodsham-based engineering consultancy and settled in Frodsham with his family 33 years ago.

Cllr Ford, of Helsby, is a chemical engineer and management accountant and also a visiting professor at Leeds University.

He is currently leader of Vale Royal Borough Council and chairman of Castle Park Trust.

Cllr Ford said: “We are delighted with residents’ outstanding support and we realise we now have a big challenge ahead of us.

“We will be looking closely at existing council policies but one of the first things is to deal with how we are going to set up neighbourhood working and make sure we get a fully fledged, interactive system to deliver quality services to local people.
