Week-long inquest to probe Chester man’s workplace death

THE inquest into the death of a man at his workplace will be held from June 16-20.

Father-of-two Mark Wright, 37, of Wrekin Way, Saltney, died from 90% burns and inhaling high temperature fire gases at Deeside Metals, Saltney, on April 13, 2005, when aerosols he was crushing ignited.

A jury at Prestatyn Magistrates Court will hear evidence of how his death was caused.

Following Mark’s death, his parents, Dorothy and Douglas Wright, formerly of Boughton Heath, Chester, campaigned for stronger legislation to prevent deaths in the workplace.

To mark workers memorial day on April 28, Mrs Wright spoke alongside MPs and MSPs at the unveiling of a Scottish memorial for all those who have died at work.
