SEVERE traffic congestion is affecting roads around Nantwich and the M6 after a lorry overturned on the Cheerbrook roundabout, scattering animal feed across the carriageway.
The road is expected to remain closed until 4pm today (Thursday) as work continues to recover the HGV and debris.
There is no access from Stapeley to J16 of the M6 and roads surrounding the area are badly congested.
Cheshire Police spokeswoman Jacqui Hanson said: “Drivers are very strongly advised to find alternative route and bear in mind the congestion in the area.
“The lorry driver had no serious injuries and there is not thought to be any other vehicle involved, but we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to call PC Anthony Hayhurst on 0845 458 0000 quoting incident number 156.”
With the weather worsening, Cheshire Police has published a short video for drivers. View it here Read
