Samantha hopes to make pub her own

WHILE some aspiring property owners rely on a loan from mum and dad, Cheshire’s youngest landlady is bucking the trend – by buying her parents out.

Samantha Duncan, who was 19 when she took over the Red Lion in Tarvin, has run the pub for her mum and stepdad for about eight months.

Villagers in Tarvin have seen a “for sale” sign at the pub but need not fear for its future as Samantha is ready to take the reins.

She now has a meeting with the bank manager planned for next week.

She said: “They haven’t got rid of me yet! It’ll be exactly what I’m doing at the moment – the only difference is it’ll be my name above the door.

“It’s going really well. We’re not having any more trouble.”

Samantha has a sleeping business partner to help with half of the finances so is hopeful the deal will go through.

“I’ll have to wait to find out,” she added.
