Preparing for pumpkins

A RANGE of special events will take place throughout October, including the Arley Hall Pumpkin Olympics and the Chester Zoo Pumpkin Festival.
They form part of the fun-filled Cheshire’s Year of Gardens 08 programme, and pumpkin growing preparations start now.
Pumpkin seeds and growing instructions are being sent to schools across Cheshire. Pupils entering their pumpkins into the Pumpkin Olympics at Arley Hall and Gardens could win a free trip for their whole class to Chester Zoo.
Pumpkin seeds can be collected from any of Cheshire’s 29 ‘Gardens of Distinction’ as well as via the website: www.yearofgardens08.com
