A HEALTH trust is starting the NHS 60th anniversary with a Challenging Stigma competition at secondary schools.
Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) will hold a number of events to challenge the stigma associated with mental health, learning disability and drug and alcohol-related problems.
Avril Devaney, director of nursing, therapies and patient partnership, said: “CWP has launched a Challenging Stigma competition at secondary schools as part of our campaign to promote positive attitudes towards mental health.
“Students have been invited to design a T-shirt and the winning design will be worn by those taking part in NHS 60 events.”
These events will culminate in a Challenging Stigma Challenge on Saturday, July 5 when staff, service users and volunteers from CWP will cycle 60 miles from Macclesfield services to Clatterbridge Hospital.
The deadline for the competition is June 6. For further information contact Jodie Campbell on 01244 364162 or e-mail jodie.campbell@cwp.nhs.uk.
