First result in Cheshire West elections due in 10 minutes

COUNTING is still going on this morning (Friday, May 2) ahead of the announcement of the first result in the elections for the new Cheshire West & Chester authority.

The count began at 9.30am in Chester, Vale Royal and Ellesmere Port & Neston but initial estiates iof having the first ward result declared within an hour have proved optimistic.

However, the latest news from Chester Town Hall is that Blacon ward is likely to be the first to be declared some time in the next 10-15 minutes.
