Drug arrests follow raids

POLICE officers working in Blacon are continuing to see good results thanks to Operation Hallmark.

The initiative kicked off at the start of March and in the past two weeks has seen warrants executed in Muir Road and Hatton Road.

Following the Hatton Road raid officers discovered what is believed to be Class A and Class C drugs. A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply and has been given police bail until May 22.

The second warrant also found what is believed to be Class A drugs and a 54-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to supply.

He appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on April 12 and has been bailed until June 9.

Sergeant Brian Green, of Chester Outer Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: “We are grateful to the people of Blacon for all the help they have offered during Operation Hallmark.

“Without the vital information they have provided warrants, such as those executed at Muir Road and Hatton Road, would not be possible.

“We are confident that, with more than a month of the operation still to run, we will see further success.

“For this to happen we need to receive continued support from those who live and work in the area and I would appeal to anyone who has any information in relation to criminal activity in Blacon to contact us on 0845 458 6375. To report a crime in progress ring 999.”
